In addition to our faculty, 工作人员 和学生, newbb电子平台 is glad to serve members of the general 雅典 community 和 surrounding regions.  Below you will find 服务 specific to members of the local community.  

社区 借款

Residents of 雅典, 霍金, 将军, 摩根, 佩里, 文顿, 和 Washington Counties, as well as all newbb电子平台 alumni, are eligible for community borrowing. To receive or renew your community member library card, visit the Alden 4th Floor Service Desk 和 bring a photo ID.

社区 borrowers must be at least 18 years old; those under 18 may be registered on the card of a parent or guardian. Public school students visiting the library as part of a class may obtain a temporary library card; teachers must provide a completed Public School Application for 图书馆 Privileges for each student 10-14 days prior to the scheduled visit. Request applications 和 submit completed applications to Chasity Gragg座椅 or 洛林Wochna.

For extended borrowing privileges, consider becoming a Friend of the 库!

Member of the general community are welcome to use 电脑 和 打印机 在奥尔登图书馆.  Ask at a service desk for assistance with accessing 电脑 or printing.

Due to our license agreements with publishers, off-campus 和 remote access to online subscription resources are limited to current newbb电子平台 faculty, 工作人员, 和学生.  We have several workstations near the 2nd floor service desk 在奥尔登图书馆 where community members can use library databases 和 other licensed electronic resources such as journals 和 e-books.  Please ask at the 2nd floor service desk for assistance. 

If you are unable to travel to 奥尔登图书馆, there may be other options for accessing similar library resources.

访问 to OhioLINK & Interlibrary Loan 服务

By default, community borrowers do not have access to OhioLINK or Interlibrary Loan 服务. However, there are a couple of ways they can exp和 their eligibility for these 服务.

If community members want to request materials through OhioLINK, they can apply for a free State of Ohio 图书馆 Card. The State 图书馆 of Ohio will even mail the card to them. As a State 图书馆 of Ohio member, they will be able to request OhioLINK books 和 specify the closest newbb电子平台 campus library as the pickup location. For access to Interlibrary Loan 服务, community members will need to consider becoming a Friend of the 图书馆. Friends of the 图书馆 have access to films, OhioLINK, 和 Interlibrary Loan 服务.
